Turkish-American Association of Greater Kansas City

The Turkish-American Association of Greater Kansas City is a not-for-profit social and cultural organization dedicated to fostering awareness and appreciation of Turkish culture and history throughout the Kansas City, MO region. Since its establishment in 1979 and incorporation by the State of Missouri in 1980, TAA-KC has served as a vital bridge connecting Turkish-Americans and friends of Turkey with the broader Kansas City community.

The organization executes a comprehensive program of cultural, educational, and charitable activities designed to promote Turkish heritage and strengthen community bonds. TAA-KC organizes diverse events including annual picnics, traditional tea celebrations honoring Ramadan and Eid, special gatherings for children and college youth, and commemorative dinner parties celebrating Turkey's founding. The Association has become a prominent presence at the Kansas City Ethnic Enrichment Festival, where volunteers operate food and crafts booths showcasing Turkish culture to thousands of visitors during this three-day August event.

Affiliiated with the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) and holding representation on the Ethnic Enrichment Commission of Kansas City, Missouri, TAA-KC conducts its mission with integrity, respect, and personal commitment to its members and activities. The organization welcomes interested individuals to participate in events, connect with the Turkish-American community, or explore membership opportunities. Through volunteer-driven programming and cultural exchange initiatives, TAA-KC continues to improve awareness of Turkey's rich cultural heritage while fostering meaningful connections among Kansas City residents who share an appreciation for Turkish traditions and values.
